What is ‘climate reporting’?

Climate reporting is providing information on climate risks and emissions to relevant stakeholders. This page explains how it applies to fund management.

As is widely reported in global public media, changes to human or ecological climates are happening that impact on people’s lives and health and world economies, infrastructure, ecosystems and species.

As a result, reporting on climate risks and emissions is becoming the norm for many organisations.

For fund managers such as Artemis, reporting on climate-related risks and opportunities in relation to the companies and industries that they invest in has become a legal requirement or, at the very least, expected best practice.

Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD)

With many organisations involved, consistency and comparability in climate reporting has become necessary.

As a result, standardised reporting frameworks for climate disclosures make it easier for investors, regulators and other stakeholders to understand and compare those risks and opportunities.

The Task Force on Climate-related Financial Disclosures (TCFD) has set out a global framework designed to provide consistent and transparent climate-related reporting for companies, investors and for global markets generally.

As an asset manager regulated by the UK’s Financial Conduct Authority, Artemis is required to publish annual TCFD-aligned reporting. Our TCFD reports aim to provide our clients with transparency on climate-related information for our business operations and for the investments we manage.

Our reports are published annually and can be found on the Climate-related disclosures: TCFD page of our website.
